Current Openings

Cinematic Lighting Artist, Contractor

At Iridium Studios, you’d be joining a small but dedicated group of game developers with a passion for role-playing games and complex, highly character-driven stories. But those stories need a spotlight, and that’s where you come in!

Responsibilities:

  • Compose dynamic lighting for cinematic cutscenes
  • Collaborate with Directors, Storyboard Artists, Layout Artists, Animators, Modelers, and VFX Artists to ensure the lighting design is of high-quality, and supports the artistic direction of the project
  • Be proactive in problem-solving, cross-discipline brainstorming
  • Receive feedback and modify work based on direction

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of industry experience as a Lighting Artist with at least one shipped title
  • Experience in development and implementation of lighting systems and post-process effects
  • Expertise in modern art principles and techniques such as lighting, composition, color theory, and staging
  • Working Experience with Unreal 4/5, Unity, or other proprietary game engine
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-direction, passion, and creativity in your work
  • Ability to telecommute during Pacific Standard Time working hours

 

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of photography principals and image correction techniques
  • An affinity for stylization
  • Strong understanding or experience in technical art

    UI Artist, Contractor

    At Iridium Studios, you’d be joining a small but dedicated group of game developers with a passion for role-playing games and complex, highly character-driven stories. But those stories need a spotlight, and that’s where you come in!

    • Design and execute dynamic compositions and visual elements for an upcoming RPG Title
    • Collaborate with Directors, Designers, and Programmers to ensure graphical elements are of high-quality and support the artistic direction of the project
    • Be proactive in problem-solving, cross-discipline brainstorming
    • Receive feedback and modify work based on direction

       

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of professional experience in the graphic design field
    • Experience in tools such as Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator
    • Expertise in modern art principles and visual design techniques
    • Advanced understanding of composition and color theory
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Self-direction, passion, and creativity in your work
    • Ability to telecommute during Pacific Standard Time working hours

     

    Nice to Have:

    3-D Facial Animator, Contractor

    At Iridium Studios, you’d be joining a small but dedicated group of game developers with a passion for role-playing games and complex, highly character-driven stories. But those stories need a spotlight, and that’s where you come in!

    Responsibilities:

    • Animating lip sync for a diverse cast of stylized characters
    • Creating or modifying blend shapes as needed
    • Collaborate with Directors, Storyboard Artists, Layout Artists, and Cleanup Animators to ensure performances are of high-quality and reflect the artistic direction of the project
    • Be proactive in problem-solving, cross-discipline brainstorming
    • Receive feedback and modify work based on direction

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years professional working experience
    • Advanced knowledge of facial anatomy
    • Advanced Maya user
    • Experience authoring facial rigs
    • Experience animating stylized characters
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Self-direction, passion, and creativity in your work
    • Ability to telecommute during Pacific Standard Time working hours

     

    Nice to Have:

    • Experience using Unreal game engine
    • An appreciation for theater

    3-D Environment Artist Intern, Contractor

    At Iridium Studios, you’d be joining a small but dedicated group of game developers with a passion for role-playing games and complex, highly character-driven stories. But those stories need a spotlight, and that’s where you come in!

    (Note: This is a paid position, hourly!)

    Responsibilities:

    • Model, texture, and setdress using specialized assets for environmental enhancement
    • Collaborate with the Artists, Game Designers, and Programmers to ensure level enhancements are of high-quality, optimized, and support the artistic direction of the project
    • Be proactive in problem-solving, cross-discipline brainstorming
    • Receive feedback and modify work based on direction

       

    Qualifications:

    • Fluency in modeling, texturing, and material work for environments and props
    • Experience with modern art principles and techniques such as lighting, composition, color theory, and staging
    • Advanced understanding of 3DSMax/Maya/Blender, Adobe Photoshop, and/or other game production tools
    • Working Experience with Unreal 4/5
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Self-direction, passion, and creativity in your work
    • Ability to telecommute during Pacific Standard Time working hours

     

    Nice to Have:

    • Experimentation implementing ideas into the existing pipeline
    • An affinity for stylization
    • Strong understanding or experience in technical art
